Reiki is a spiritual healing practice that originated in Japan. This technique involves the gentle laying on of hands to help promote relaxation, reduce stress, and support the body's natural healing processes. Practitioners believe that by channeling energy into the recipient, balance and harmony can be restored on physical, emotional, and spiritual levels. While some people swear by its benefits, others approach it with skepticism. As with any holistic practice, individual experiences with reiki can vary. If you can allow your mind to accept, your body will follow.

This practice can be in person or virtually. Ideally, it’s an in person interaction but it’s 2024 so this energy healing can have positive results from afar. While I believe in, and support, modern medicine and science, holistic practices have been around for far, far longer. That speaks for itself. Before telling yourself “this doesn’t work” “it’s not worth my time” “voodoo hippie shit ain’t for me” I dare you to try it. Nonetheless you’ll get a relaxing rest for 30-60 minutes. If we don’t take time to relax our brain, be present with our thoughts, or attempt to silence the constant noise around us we are going to get wrapped up in the hustle society and never feel truly rested. Do something beneficial for your mind and it will in turn have positive effects on your body and therefore life.
